As a GP Training Practice we would like to take the opportunity to welcome Dr Saima Naveed to Stubley! Dr Naveed is joining us for four months to continue her learning. Dr Naveed is a fully qualified doctor and can prescribe.
Sadly, that means Dr Katy Mathews who has been with us since December 2021 is moving on to her next placement; we’re grateful for all of your company and help over the last eight months and wish you the best of luck moving forward! Xx
We have a new Facebook Group, entitled Stubley Medical Centre Patient Forum.
This group is for Stubley Medical Centre Patients ONLY and other group members will be able to see who is in the group.
If you do not want anyone to know where you are registered: do not join the group.
You also do not have to join the group. We thought the group might be a nice way for us to interact with patients less formally and be a fairly easy way for us to quickly update our patients about practice matters.
If you would like to join the group there are three questions you must answer in order to be accepted.
We ask if that you respect the privacy of other practice members as you would wish for yourself.
The Facebook group is not a replacement for phoning the practice or leaving feedback.
As ever, if you are unwell and in need of medical attention or an appointment, please phone the surgery on 01246 296970.

IS GREATER ACCESS TO GP SERVICES IN DRONFIELD IMPORTANT TO YOU?
There is now a chance for Dronfield folk to influence what this might look like.
From 1 October 2022, NHS Primary Care Networks will be required to provide Enhanced GP Services Access between the hours of 6.30PM and PM Mondays to Fridays and between 9AM and 5PM on Saturdays. This is in addition to the current Mon-Fri 8AM-6.30PM core GP contract.
To facilitate the change and understand the needs of our local population PCNs have been asked to undertake as much patient engagement as possible. NHS Derby and Derbyshire CCG has kindly produced a survey which can be accessed by patients or their carers until 15th July.
Stubley Medical Centre has over 5,000 registered patients and over 20,000 patients are resident in and around Dronfield but the responsible NHS PCN covers 134,000 throughout Chesterfield and as far as Calow. We want our local share of these additional services, so we need to express our views. Stubley Medical Centre are supportive of promotion of this survey.
Please could you share this survey with anyone who you think may have an interest in what services, how and where they will be accessed. It is being promoted in areas outside of Dronfield and unless we voice our views, what we get might well not be what we want.
Thank you to the Dronfield Medical Practice Patient Group for bringing this survey to our attention!
Please complete and share the survey before the 15th July.
Today we had to say goodbye to G, our lovely Clinical Pharmacist, who joined us as a PCN Team Member at the very beginning of the Covid vaccination programme. Some of you may recognise him as the one who arrived on a moped in purple scrubs! Happy to help anyone with anything, G was a fantastic member of the practice family and will be sorely missed (along with his paella). Bereft as we are; we wish him the best of luck with his future career and know lots of our patients who were lucky enough to work with him will wish him the same. Thank you so much G! And hopefully you’ll be back to visit us (read: feed us) soon. Xx
