CHANGES TO THE WAY YOU BOOK A DOCTORS APPOINTMENT
For 8 years we have run a simple ‘triage’ system whereby we ask of our patients what their concern or problem is before a doctors appointment is released. Many if not most requests for appointment do NOT require a face to face contact and it may be more effective to arrange tests before the doctor review and use just a single appointment rather than have 2 appointments before and after the tests.
Demand for a doctors appointment has nearly doubled in the years since we started this, and we need to make the system more effective. Rather than call reception with your details we are, like many other practices, offering you the ability to submit more information digitally rather than through reception. This frees up admin time, will enable calls to be answered more quickly for other matters and will reduce the ‘chinese whispers’ problem of sometimes information not being passed on correctly.
A reception service will be retained for those who feel unable to do this.
We are not an emergency service and reception may ask you to call 111 for immediate triage if your condition is thought to require a speedy triage.
