Mild Asthma
This page is only for patients at the practice who have been sent a link.
If you’ve been directed here its because you’re on our register of patients with asthma but your inhaler use is infrequent.
If you need to use a blue (or equivalent) reliever inhaler only infrequently, perhaps during a seasonal hay fever period or when occasionally exposed to a relatives pet when you visit them, which triggers a wheeze, then so long as you are happy with your inhaler technique, using the inhaler at those times, when needed is all you need to do.
If you regularly are triggered into using a reliever inhaler then use of a preventer inhaler (commonly a brown one is recommended and we can facilitate this if one is not already on your repeat prescription.
Periodically we will ask how your asthma is - but should you need advice or feel that your asthma is inadequately controlled then please contact the practice.
Should you smoke, this will have an adverse effect on your asthma, and if you need help quitting then the local NHS service can be accessed HERE
